Wayne
Field is preparing and looking after this Micra for Aaron, and a few
other cars this season, and due to work pressure, asked if we could
have a look and get this Micra running properly.
These pictures don't show the true brightness of this car. Sunglasses recommended!
We
had a look under the bonnet, and after making certain that all was
well, we fired it up, and it sounded very nice for a few minutes and
then all the coolant was forced out of the radiator.
Not a good sign, and as there are no gauges, it's quite difficult to tell what's happening inside the engine.
Off came the head and a straight edge showed it was warped. Just as well Wayne had left a spare one in the car.
The
spare head has now been cleaned and checked and armed with a new gasket
( No you can't use the old one again Wayne!) the reassembly will begin
soon and weather permitting, we will be racing on Sunday.
Race day 23rd May 2010
This Micra is very fast and is a front running car. Aaron is also a very good driver!
Heat 1. Aaron gets 3rd but was beaten by half a car length on the line. Ran 2nd until the flag!
Heat 2. Some incident gets Aaron a black flag and he misses the final.
