Wessex British Un-Modified Race Day 4th July 2010 A fair and warm day made for great racing. WS77
after having fun on Saturday in the open.
Wayne and the boys get
stuck in, Wayne was driving his Class 7 Mini which managed 1 race before it destroyed the drive chain getting a 3rd place. He also raced the Micra, getting a hard fought 2nd place in Class 2 and then the head gasket failed. There, that looks better, amazing what a handful of cable ties can achieve! Chris pulled out of the 1st heat with a fuel problem, but finished third in the 2nd heat after leading for most of the race, but did not qualify for the final. Mark had another trouble free meeting with the Nova, getting a 5th place and a 4th, but did not qualify for the final. Jon Young in the Class 4 Mini had three 2nd places. Tyler, making it look easy, Heat 1 1st / Heat 2 1st / Final 1st, and a trophy! 2nd in the un-mods. Nigel
and the Micra, 3rd in the first heat, but starting to miss-fire a bit.
5th in heat 2 and not running properly, and 8th in the final. Need to
look at the electrics to see what's causing the problem. Caroline, who shares the car with Nigel, got three 2nd places and a trophy, even with the car not running right. Nice one Caz! Very quick Micra with some serious intake manifold and carb set up. Ray's
Micra with some battle damage from saturday, did not realise that the
steering rack was damaged as well, but managed 1st in Heat 1, and then
the rack let go and had 2 DNF. The Pink Dot racing team of the Clamp family. Always well turned out cars. The very rapid Micra of Ian Fay. Steve back in action after we've sorted the damage from the last meeting. ![]() Good results for Steve, 2nd, 4th and 3rd in the final and a trophy! Steve and Nikki with trophy and bottle of bubbly! A good day for JRE, 3 trophies, and also some problems to sort out before the next meeting. |
