1400cc Class 5 Peugeot / Citroen engine build |
Here we have a Peugeot/Citroen based engine that we will develop for a Class 5 car. A fairly tall engine points to a long stroke which may limits the revs. 3 part construction shows a strong main bearing ladder. Fairly small inlet ports. Distributor drive off the cam, won't be needing that! Roller tip rockers as standard...Nice. Fairly big valves, should be ok. Lots of room for expansion. ![]() Exhaust ports well spaced. Oil pump chain driven offC the crankshaft. Very strong main bearing ladder. Forgetting to put this chain on could seriously spoil your day! Crankshaft, pistons and rods. Cylinders removed, block cleaned and painted. Pistons and con rods cleaned, very good design, with strong bolts. Work has begun on modding the head. Nice 8 valve set up, much less work than the 16 valve heads. These are the exhaust ports. Exhaust ports are done. And inlets are done. Engine assembly begins. Bottom half complete. Head is now fitted with performance cam and pulley. Cam belt fitted and water pump. The rest of the build can be found on the Chris T page. |
